Submit a Public Comment
Submit your public comment to the TDA by February 9th at 4:00 pm cst. The TGC has teamed up with our legal team to provide a carefully crafted email to send to the TDA. We suggest keeping the majority of the language in the email, but you can add your personal comment in as well.
Contact Your Legislators
Your legislators have the power to influence the department of agriculture. The TGC has provided an easy to use link to submit a pre-written email to your leaders. This link will take you to a page that asks for your information, such as your address and name and age, then it populates your areas senator and representative. Once you click on the mail button your default email service will pop up with the pre-written email. We do not sell or use this information for any purpose outside of the organization.
You can submit these after the rulemaking hearing, bur we recommend sending it before the end of February.
SAVE THCa CAMPAIGN
The TGC has been working on this campaign since we originally met with the Department of Agriculture in 2023. Prior to the news of the proposed rules we drafted our own rules and submitted them to the TDA, but those were obviously not considered. Since then we have been strategizing and building a plan with our legal team. We have retained Attorney Alex Little with the Burr & Forman to assist with litigation and other legal matters. You can submit your comment during the hearing either written or orally. If you plan to give an oral comment we suggest arriving early. You will need to add your name to the list for oral comments, and they will call commenters up based on the order that signed up. The TDA will have to answer to every single comment that is submitted. We have already submitted over 875 comments as of January 29th! We have a goal of 1000 by February 9th! Lets flood the TDA with the industry’s concerns!
The TGC will be submitting an oral comment the day of the hearing. We have been working on a detailed comment with the help of our legal team, member suggestions and what people bring to the Hemp Roadshow Meetings.
We have confidence in the industry to make change! We have been fighting for you since 2018 and do not plan to stop anytime soon! You have created this space and we are here to protect it! The TGC is more than just a PAC, its a movement!
